Lily’s Kitchen in Stella Magazine

My Lily’s Kitchen packaging has been spotted by the people over at The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella Magazine. Good stuff. Go on, treat that other member of the family. The magazine thinks it’s wise to.

“It’s not often you’ll find us cooing over a tin of pet food, but Lily’s Kitchen has packaging to challenge many an posh organic brand.”

The Daily Star Strut

Our Strut campaign got picked up by the Daily Star and they ran with it. Brilliant.

Shoreditch Crackunit

or a blog post about what’s going on with the Shoreditch WiFi. Cheers.

Spin – The Art of Record Design

I’ve been lucky enough to have my my Hard-Fi sleeve to be selected for an exhibition of record sleeves by Unviverity of Arts alumni – which doing time at St Martins meant I was eligible for. I went to the private view and was glad to see the band and other bands there too.

I was even fortunate enough to meet an old family friend called Noel Hawkins who, I had no idea as a kid, is a designer himself and designed a great sleeve for Dub Vendor which sat right next to mine! It was strange seeing my design next to so many great sleeves.

The Spiel:

“GQ Editor Dylan Jones, The Horrors’ Faris Rotter and designer Peter Saville were the judges and have selected some of the most iconic cover art of the last four decades to appear in Spin. A unique examination of the art of the record cover, Spin will open up an often forgotten side of the music industry, to explore the fascinating relationship between art, design and music.

They chose an eclectic array of albums stretching across musical genres and through four decades, all designed or featuring artwork by alumni of University of the Arts London.

Other album covers in the show include the following musicians; Cream, Robert Plant, Uriah Heep, Madness, Adam & the Ants, The Clash, James, Chemical Brothers, Lemon Jelly, The Gossip, Beth Orton and Adele.

Accurist Win

Albion won the Accurist pitch for Albion. I think we’ve got something quite special. Natalie and I worked on the creative.

Someone quoted me?

I was lucky enough to be asked to speak at Engage 2007 in SIngapore by Contagious Magazine. This was a big deal for me as I’d not done much public speaking to a big audience. My talk was on The Art of Conversation – word of mouth, bespoke messaging, doing rather than talking etc and I think I tried to fill it with too many jokes. But afterwards I got pointed towards this blog post on “Not Dead Just Fucking Busy”- where I was actually quoted. So thanks for that. It’s not exact but you get the jist. Also probably the best thing I said all week to be fair.

Album Cover of The Year

“It’s funny how the most basic of designs won it then… it’s a good thing though cos you see those CCTV camera in operation stickers everywhere, and now everytime I see one I think of HARD-Fi”

What the kids got up to

These are all ideas from our packaging. The hamster house was a simple recycling message I put on the box!

What Media Snackers had to say

“Now we can just send them to innocent kids”. Thanks for the nice words.
